The experience
I start by asking what matters most to you and your *families.*
There is a richness to South Asian celebrations, the colour, the detail, the emotion, the sheer number of people who matter, that I love documenting. I have photographed Indian weddings, couples and engagement sessions here in Northland, and I approach every celebration the same way: I learn what matters most to you and your families first, so the rituals, the people and the small in-between moments are all captured with the weight they carry.
Your day also moves fast, and often across more than one event. My style is calm and observant. I blend in where I should, step in gently when it counts, and keep track of the schedule so nothing important slips past while everyone is caught up in the moment.
