A little about how I work

Photography that feels like you, made without the fuss

If you have been searching for photography services or a professional photographer close to home, it is lovely to meet you. I am Nimmy, based in Whangārei, and most of the people I work with arrive a little unsure about what a photo shoot actually involves. That is completely normal. Whether you found me by chance or by typing “photoshoot near me,” my job is to make the whole thing feel calm and unhurried.

My approach is honest and intuitive. I watch quietly for the real moments, and I step in with gentle direction whenever it helps. I keep my editing clean and true to life, so your photographs still feel like you years from now. No heavy filters, no forced poses, nothing that dates.

I group my work into four areas so it is easy to find the right fit. Each one asks something a little different of me, which is exactly why they sit apart. Whether the day is personal or professional, I bring the same care to it, and there is never any pressure to decide before you feel ready.

01 / Commercial

For businesses & brands

Commercial photography, branding photography, headshots, product work and corporate events. Considered images that help your business look like itself, made to work across your website, print and social.

02 / Personal

For people & families

Wedding photography, family photography and private gatherings, documented warmly and without pressure. These are the days worth slowing down for, kept exactly as they felt to be there.

03 / Property

For property & spaces

Property photography and architectural photography for real estate, interiors, builders and designers. Light-led images that show how a space is meant to be lived in and understood.

04 / Art

For artists & galleries

Artwork documentation, exhibition and studio photography, drawing on years spent caring for artworks as a gallery registrar. Precise, respectful records made for archives, submissions and print.

I photograph throughout Whangārei and the wider Northland region, and travel further across Aotearoa when a project calls for it. Whichever way we begin, you can expect a relaxed shoot, clear communication, and a private gallery of edited images to keep.
